    Ford
Piano has had a long association with the manufacturer of
the worlds' finest piano. John Fekete, Ford Piano's founder,
worked at the Steinway factory when it was on 14th St.
in Manhattan. This was before they moved to the country and
wide open spaces of 301 Park Ave - the site of the current
Waldorf Astoria. John Fekete broke in many people to the piano
trade, among them, John Bodjus who went on to be the head
of the Research and Development department at the current
Steinway Astoria factory during the 1950's and 60's. Before
Steinway established a rebuilding department in the early
1970's, Ford Piano would get rebuilding referrals from "the
factory". Ford Piano Supply designed, produced, and sold
specialty tools to the factory during this time period. To
this day, Steinway is unsurpassed in quality, tone, and resale
value, making Steinway the piano of choice for most serious
players, aficionados and concert venues.
